Curatorial Researcher: Learning From

Erin Alexa Freedman studies the history of technology and design, with a particular focus on how processes of making and knowing are conceived by practitioners across the domains of art, craft and science. A curatorial researcher for the bauhaus imaginista chapter 'Learning From,' she is currently enrolled in the PhD program of the History of Science at Harvard University. Most recently, she worked as a curatorial assistant at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York where she helped develop the 2019 Design Triennial. She has also held curatorial positions at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. In 2016 she co-curated Chroma Lives with Lili Huston-Herterich, a durational archival performance and exhibition profiling Toronto’s queer, cross-disciplinary art community of the 1980s through oral history.
