Philipp Krüger

Philipp Krüger is a graduate of the Institute of Applied Theatre Studies, Giessen and the postgraduate course Curating in the Performing Arts at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg.

 

Since 2010 Philipp Krüger has been exploring various combinations of performative formats in the international context of the performing arts. He has presented his works in the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom, and was a prize-winner at the Hessian Theatertage 2013. His artistic research focuses on the field of tension between art production and production aesthetics. In 2014, Philipp Krüger was an artist-in-residence at the Gyeonggi Creation Center, South Korea, and at the Performance Center of Falmouth University, Cornwall, UK. As the recipient of a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) he researched curatorial practice in South Korea and its influence on the construction of an identity of otherness.

 

Career milestones have included the Berliner Ensemble, the Schaubühne Berlin, the Deutsche Film und Fernsehakademie Berlin, the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen and the Kunsthalle Giessen, where he was engaged as a research associate.
