Maud Houssais
In 2017, she is the research curator of the exhibition project bauhaus imaginista curated by Marion von Osten and Grant Watson. She was in charge of the scientific part of the exhibition catalog Fugitive Volumes: Faouzi Laatiris and the National Institute of Fine Arts of Tetouan, published by the MMVI Museum, Rabat, in 2016, under the direction of Morad Montazami. She also held the position of project manager at L'appartement 22, Rabat, from 2011 to 2016, founded in 2002 by Abdellah Karroum, actual director of Mathaf, Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar, where she initiated among other the program of encounters “Sharing knowledge: a series of encounters on archive and artistic practices" in 2014. She has coordinated many artistic projects with different museum institutions such as the MACBA, Barcelona, the Benin Biennale, Cotonou, or the Palais de Tokyo, Paris.
In 2016, she founded with Kenza Benbouchaib and Fatima-Zahra Lakrissa ARAV (Atelier de Recherche en Arts Visuels), a platform based in Rabat dedicated to research in art history in Morocco and the Maghreb. In 2017, ARAV launches New Methodologies, a series of workshops dedicated to the creation of new conceptual tools to reflect on the elaboration of subordinate narratives outside the normative sets of interpretation. The first workshop of the series, in the frame of the project bauhaus imaginista: learning from, will be presented by Kader Attia and Marion von Osten in March 2018.
Her essays have been published in various publications and journals such as Zamân (textes, images et documents) in 2017, the online platform Afrique In Visu in 2017, or in the catalog of the Bamako Biennale Telling Time in 2016.
